She's back!!

After a ridiculously long absence, I'm back in blogdom. My interprovincial move and everything that went along with it meant that I simply didn't have time to do any birding, much less report on it. I'm happy to write that my drought is now over. Yesterday, I went birding for the first time since our move to Atlantic Canada. We went out to Cavendish Beach and drove back to town along the Rustico route. I saw many Barrow's and Common Goldeneyes, American Black Ducks, a juvenile Bald Eagle, Great Black Backed Gulls, a couple ravens, and sadly, countless crows and European Starlings. I was so enthralled by seeing diving ducks in the winter, having been used to only seeing them in spring, summer and fall back in Eastern Ontario. During my next outing I'll bother to take photos, but for this time out I just wanted to watch and enjoy. I returned home energized and eager to hook up with other avid birders.
